The IMPRESSive machine - an OFF-roader

I have been proven wrong way too many times this year. For the reader's sake I am not going to go into details of it. The last time it happen this past weekend. A brother of mine and a good friend called me up and asked me if I am up for an adventure. It doesn't take more than a word to persuade me, but I wasn't as enthusiastic about an off-road vineyards tour as I would have been about some other types of adventures. I have been proved wrong. This was a ride of a lifetime. We have hit the weather spot on. I have taken the youngest and the oldest sons and my wife with me as there was just enough space for all six of us. We have taken a tour with an old but very capable and great looking machine. It took us up some really steep hills among the vineyards. It was nothing less than impressive. And the views in the early autumn here in the viniferous region are just spectacular. I am afraid that the photos don't do this region in this time of year justice. I tried though. We have seen places unapproachable with any other vehicle, stopped at a couple of gorgeous wine cellars, tasted some great tasting wine and simply enjoyed the day. An adventure worth redoing.

Equipment wise: I've shot all the photos with my trusty X-Pro2 with my two workhorses, one being the Samyang 12mm and the other the Fujinon XF55-200mm. They both performed more than stellar. I have thought that this adventure would be nice for me to try out my new toy, the Neweer hand held stabiliser and try to capture some moving pictures as well. Being a newcomer to video making and using the stabiliser for the first time, I still have a lot to learn, but it was fun.
