In the search of COOLness

When you cannot function anymore because of the heat and you think you are going to become just another little or not that little puddle of melted fat, you pack your family, camera and a sandwich and you head out in the search of coolness. We found it yesterday just and hour and a half drive from our home. We left our vehicle at the Koča na Pesku and wandered towards the Lovrenška jezera. Lovrenška jezera (lakes) are located on high marsh in the middle of Pohorje, between Rogla and Ribniško Pohorje. Smaller lakes get water only from rain. There is a wooden path connecting the lakes so you can access them all, but walking through the marshy bushes is forbidden. There is also a wooden observatory from which you can enjoy a magnificent view over the marshes. Walking up to the lakes takes about an hour and a half along the well beaten rocky path with quite some ascending. However, ascending is usually done in the shades of tall coniferous trees so it isn’t such a problem. Besides that, the temperature there is more than 5 degrees C lower that at home. The trip was a total success as we have spent a day at bearable temperatures, done some cardiovascular activities, I have taken some photos that you can see here and had a great time in general.
